Mike Skovie gets a nice ram with his bow

Today Mike Skovie and his son Cole went sheep hunting with me today. We tried a different area than we usually go early in the morning to see if the difference in our timing would pay off. When we got to the area we saw that our timing paid off. A big herd of sheep rossed in front of the truck and we got on them. They led us to other groups resulting in a perfect setup for Mike. We were watching a herd when out of the corner of my eye I saw 3 nice rams huddling their way towards us. Cole and I stayed back and Mike got ini to position. The ram appeared minutes later and Mike got a shot. We watched sangha arrow landed a little back due to the speed the ram was moving. It was a great moving shot. We watched him for awhile as he stood with his head down like a bull at the end of a bull fight. It looked good for us until the ram went out of sight. We all looked for a long time with no sign of him. We thought that maybe the ram went to the herd with the healthy other rams that were with him so we stalked the herd fro over an hour until we finally saw the entire herd. He wasn’t there. Discouraged and facing loosing a nice ram we decided after 2 hours to go back up to the area we shot and look one last time. As we swept the area the view of the original shot was in sight and we would be at the truck in a matter of minutes. I came over a little hill and found the ram! He had been down for a long time proving that persistence pays off sometimes. To be honest it was just plain old good luck and in hunting and fishing I always depend on that to save the day all the time. Congratulations to Mike and Cody for the biggest Black Hawaiian Ram of the season and with a bow no less.
