Hawaii Boy Capt Trevor Cockle fished with us on the Northern Lights. Capt. of the famed Madam and the Hooker he set an incredible amount of World Records. Today we would have no lack of experience with he and Mat aboard. He was back in the Islands to see friends and hang out between his world wide fishing. He was interested in seeing the Tuna Stick in action. His classmate of Trevor’s McGrew Rice hooked him up with us. Mat and I were going to go try the school so it worked out nice. We started off really well finding a lone pod of dolphins spread out and caught a double trolling. Set out again and in a spread out bunch caught another one trolling. With 3 big ones in the box I said,”Ok were good lets go in”. Trevor looked confused and wondered if I was joking or not. I said “Guess you have to come back to see the stick”. I paused for a second and went into action with the stick gear. Joking of course. We went 4-4 on the stick in 2 hours. Here you see Trevor and Mat before we head an gutted the fish to make room in the box. We tucked the fish in and ran up to the dolphins, this time with live bait. Trevor and Mat both pitched baits. Trevor’s bait got nervous and he got bit. We caught that one and Mat answered back with one of his own. With room for one more we ran up for one last drop and number 10smashed the bait. Great to see Trevor and see that he takes his luck with him where ever he fishes in the world.
