Doug and Reece Andersen and friends jake and Phil joined us for the Rock and Reel tournament this weekend. We had a great first day leading the 500.00 daily until the last hour of the tournament with a spearfish tag. Right after we let the spearfish go a really nice fish came to the short bait. At first it looked like it was 450 or 500 pounds but turned out to be a lot bigger. The fish missed short then dropped back and got hooked on there short rigger. Reece took it to the chair and jumped twice at the boat. Lunging forward you could see the girth on her and she was easy over 700. What a nice fish only to pull the hook. There wasn’t a scratch on the hooks or lure. Day 2 we had no bites. It was slow for the fleet. The big winners were the Lightspeed with a 693 edging out the rod Bender’s 690 blue.
