Nice spear on a half day group charter. Also got a 25 pound otaro(grander food) Bait every where and marks on the screen looks good out there

Gage Allerd and girlfriend Lily with a nice pair of Ahi yesterday. The bite is very good in Kona right now with a wave of tuna biting in the blind. Ours were in the dolphins today but a bunch of ahi were caught among the fleet in the blind. Looking forward to a great summer

Who’s showing up. Boats beginning to have big days summer is coming.. we caught 4 this day and 3 were in 30 minutes. We were lucky to take advantage of a short but sweet bite window

Nice blue from the other day. Really nice to se a good one between all the boat work we have done this year. Haven’t had much to share with engine services varnish dry docks consuming the fall and winter. The boats look great and we are ready for summer to begin. The preparation is everything and we are finally wrapping up lots of hard boat work days and with this we can begin to believe we are ready for fishing finally. I’m not a fan of porting old pics but now that our focus is back on fishing I will share some of the good days we had this year between all the boat work

Mission accomplished Marty got his spear today on fly to add to his billfish on fly hit list that includes a rare swordfish on a fly he caught with Capt Bouncer Smith. He needs a stripe and a black and he complete the entire billfish slam on fly. We battled bad weather the last few days so it was nice to have a nice day to catch his fish in. Tomorrow we look for the stripey

Capt Mat Bowman went 2 for 4 on Bigeye tuna today on the GRANDER in Madeira. The good fishing continues with many of the boats seeing fish now every day.

Ended up second in an exciting finish of a great Hawaii Billfish Series Tournament on the Northern Lights 2. Held on to the lead until the last 20 minutes. The Sea Genie 2 hooked and fought their fish. Right when they tagged their fish we hooked up and tagged a blue with minutes left. Tied at 3 tags a piece we got second on time because they caught their 3 one first in the final minutes. The Northern Lights 1 with Capt Oskie Rice and angler David Birdsal won the day 3 daily for the first tag of the day. This tournament is a great tournament focusing on the anglers. There are prizes and beautiful trophies and a nice sit down dinner. In the world of big money tournaments and only cash prizes it is great to see a tournament that has both cash and awards for the winning anglers to remember a great tournament by. Thanks to Joe and Ruth for a great time. Can’t wait till next year.
