September Marlin My Favorite Time of Year

Caught another nice fish today. We did something we don’t usually do by going the opposite way of where we had a good day the day before.
Don’t leave fish to find fish.
A great report from south found us on the opposite side of the coast. With low traffic we had one of my favorite spots to ourselves.
With limited time we headed back towards home and had a giant explosion on our Koya tube on the long corner.
We were in the Dacron in seconds and when the fish started jumping inshore of us we knew what we were up against. After a long chase running the fish down at trolling speed we found ourselves in tight to the coast where the long weekend campers watched from shore as we caught this nice fish.
After we released her we caught a small blue right away a sign that maybe they were in the same area spawning. She was tired but surely survived to spawn if she didn’t already.
This fish was long and fat. Everyone on board agreed this one was substantially bigger than our fish from yesterday.
This time of year is my favorite time of year historically we do well on big ones and small ones.
This makes 4 nice fish over 400 in the last 3 days of fishing. We have a week free this coming week so I hope we can get back on em when we return.
